This week in Grantchester, Sidney tracks down Ronnie (Charlie Higson) at a Romany site...
If you thought sultry Sidney striding away from Grantchester was a plot twist, wait until you see tonight's (frankly bizarre) episode.
Disillusioned by faith and tired of his complicated love life, Sidney goes hitchhiking to a Romany site where he finds and confronts Mrs Maguire's estranged husband Ronnie.
Obviously it's not long before detective Geordie hits the road looking for his friend, but it looks like Sidney doesn't want to be found… Meanwhile, Cathy makes a big decision about her marriage, Amanda realises her relationship is doomed and Leonard struggles to cope.
Fingers crossed this usually brilliant series will be back to its best next week (although it is nice to see Sidney's civilian wardrobe make an appearance…).
