Is Lily dead?
Has Gemma killed Casualty's most talented junior doctor?
Doctor Lily Chao discovers that no good deed goes unpunished when she rushes to help distraught Gemma this week!
It’s a fraught day at the ED, especially for Lily (Crystal Yu) who finds herself caught between the junior doctors’ strike and medical director Sam Strachan needing doctors on the ward. Lily chooses to work while her friends, Ethan, Cal and Alicia join the strike. But later, Lily has a new reason to leave work early - a drunk and distraught Gemma Dean (Rebecca Ryan) phones her begging for help…
Recently, Lily has been helping paramedic Iain Dean’s disadvantaged little sister Gemma learn to read and write. This week when Iain discovers Gemma has been posting revenge porn about Alicia, he has a showdown with his sister as Lily looks on!
Gemma admits she posted the naked selfies of Alicia because she’s jealous of the popular doctor. Iain accuses Gemma of being poisonous and tells her to pack her bags! Tearful Gemma appeals to Lily to help, but when Lily refuses, Gemma storms off with Iain’s car keys to drink cider in an underground car park!
Later, however, Lily has a change of heart when she receives a distressed phone call from a drunk and desperate Gemma. Seriously worried, Lily cuts her shift at the hospital short and races to Gemma’s aid. But by the time Lily gets there, Gemma’s drunkenly joyriding around the car park!
Tragedy strikes as the intoxicated teen fails to see Lily and runs her down. Seconds later, Lily’s lifeless body lies sprawled on the car park floor. Stunned Gemma looks on. Will she runaway from the horror she’s created or rush to get help for the one person who cared enough to help her?
