Jane Austen: Behind Closed Doors
Self-confessed Jane Austen super-fan Lucy Worsley is fizzing with excitement as she explores the places where the author lived and their influence on her work
Lucy Worsley is always full of infectious enthusiasm and this self-confessed Jane Austen super-fan is fizzing with excitement as she explores the places where the author lived and their influence on her work.
After visiting the site of Austen's birthplace in Hampshire, where she first got a taste for writing, the historian looks at her time in Bath and her holidays in Lyme Regis.
She also visits stately homes owned by Austen's wealthier relatives in Warwickshire and Kent, which inspired the likes of Pride and Prejudice, and there’s also a poignant look at her final days in Winchester.
With this year the 200th anniversary of Austen's death, aged just 41, this is a must-watch for any Janeite.
