Meanwhile, Sally is remembering this time last year when she found out she had cancer, and reflects on how close she and Kevin were. It's clear that no one knows what Christmas will bring for the two families. Jim returns to declare his feelings for Liz, while Owen finds it hard to keep his cool. Meanwhile, Steve is also on edge over his reappearance. Also, John tells a bemused Joy Fishwick that Colin has gone back to Canada, but doesn't want to be contacted. *Second episode, 8.00pm* Leanne summons Carla and explains how Ken walked in on her and Nick. With Peter at the back of her mind a delighted Carla reminds Leanne she can only have one man and must choose. She now can only wait to see if she gets the outcome she wants. Deirdre's stunned as Ken relates his shocking discovery and with Peter out of the way they confront Leanne. She tries to explain herself, claiming her fling with Nick was a big mistake and that it's Peters she loves. As she begs for a second chance Ken's furious at being put in such a difficult position. Molly plays along with Tyrone's enthusiasm for their first family Christmas. But when Sally invites the Dobbs to Christmas dinner, she isn't sure whether she will be able to keep up the act. John turns up at Charlotte's for tea to find she's invited her parents and told them he's her fiance Colin. When Charlotte's dad orders him to treat her well John's appalled, but feels he must carry on with the facade. Also, Steve's shocked to hear that Jim is in hospital after being set upon by thugs in a pub. And he's suspicious that there's more to it then just a random attack.
