Martin Clunes explores Puerto Rico and islands off America’s eastern coast
Martin Clunes continues his island adventure by going to the American territory of Puerto Rico.
There he embraces the island’s vibrant spirit by learning to salsa and sipping its national drink, piña colada, which was invented there in the 1950s.
He also visits Roanoke Island, off North Carolina, and watches a play which re-enacts the mystery surrounding the first English settlers to America in 1585, who vanished without trace.
Finally, in Virginia, Martin witnesses the annual Chincoteague Pony Swim, where cowboys drive a herd of wild ponies across a channel so they can be auctioned off to raise money for the voluntary fire service.
