Matthew is determined to get Carrie on side over the deal to redevelop the vicarage and he invites her to meet up with a potential buyer. Matthew and Carrie get cosy over a bottle of wine and Carrie seems to be flirting. Carl is angry when he walks in and notices the charged atmosphere. Matthew clicks that Carl and Carrie have history and he encourages Carl to tell Chas, who is shocked by his admission. Marlon encourages a bored Paddy to go back to college and he bites the bullet and re-enrols, even though he’s nervous about bumping into Rita. Paddy comes face-to-face with Rita and is confused when she accuses him of not calling her. They discover that Paddy had the wrong number for her and he’s thrilled when Rita agrees to a date. Billy has escaped jail but he’s now jobless following his no show at the haulage yard due to his arrest. Val feels sorry for Billy and suggests that she and Diane take him on at the pub. Jack is less than happy about the suggestion. Also, Belle visits Rosemary for German lessons.
