After trying their hardest to make their marriage work, Max and Steph realise they can't keep tiptoeing around their issues. They make one last attempt to rekindle their romance, but with heavy hearts, realise the spark between them is gone for good. Sadly, they finally accept that their marriage is over. Dastardly Paul's plan to use Ned pays off when a drugged-up Dylan and Carmella are found in bed together. Rosie is outraged by her sister's behaviour and Oliver is upset with Carmella. Meanwhile, shocked and hurt Elle heads to the Timmins' to pack her things and returns straight home to Daddy – just as Paul hoped. But Dylan can't understand what happened and begs Elle to believe that nothing went on, but Elle won't listen. Determined not to be hurt again, she reveals she's now interested in money and power rather than love – and she's more than keen to get her revenge on Dylan. Paul thanks Ned for his dirty work and placates him further by suggesting he take up residency as his tennant in Karl Kennedy's old flat, free of charge. Also, Janelle asks for Janae's help in recording her own unique love song as a Valentine present to Steiger.
