Tyrone is determined to try and win Molly round and is pleased when she agrees to meet him for a drink in the Rovers. But when he catches her chatting to Jason in the shop and agreeing to meet for a drink, Tyrone explodes with jealousy. Molly furiously throws him out of the shop and as the New Year arrives she decides things are over between them. Molly's New Year ends with a bang when Pam and Darryl cause an explosion with the bio-fuel and Pam is rushed to hospital. Liz and Lloyd are both trying to play it cool, believing the other is not interested. But as the day continues Liz gets sick of hearing about Danielle from Michelle and Steve and as the clock strikes midnight she and Lloyd sneak off to his flat to see in 2009 alone. Becky is getting sick of waiting for Steve to become a free man and she's not best pleased when she hears Michelle telling him that the New Year would be a good time for them to make a fresh start... Also, Peter is sick of being on the wagon and stays away from the Rovers New Year's celebrations, but he can't keep out of temptation's way...
