Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse travel to Scotland this week to fulfil a childhood dream in BBC2’s Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing

As Paul tells Bob in this week’s Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, the fishing rod was once described as having ‘a worm at one end and a fool at the other’.

Fortunately there are two very funny fools (pictured above) at the end of these rods, and this week they’re in search of salmon on the River Tay in Scotland, to try to fulfil a dream Bob has always had to catch the elusive fish.

In between the usual comic diversions, including Bob’s Dustin Hoffman impression and a crazy round of golf, there are more meditations on life as Bob meets an angler with cancer who finds fishing therapeutic.

Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing

Bob and Paul get deep again in this week’s Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing on BBC2

In turn, Bob reveals that, when he suffered from depression as a young man, his love of football helped him to recover.

As they reflect on their dreams, did they come true on this trip?

We’re still hooked.
