Many convicts were sent to the gallows while protesting their innocence, including today’s subject, Charlotte Bryant, who was hanged for poisoning her husband in 1936.
Barristers Jeremy Dein and Sasha Wass, along with Charlotte’s descendants, reopen the case.
But as they investigate, the really sad story is learning how the Bryants’ five young children coped with losing both parents in tragic circumstances.
