Matthew agrees to make Nicola events co-ordinator in recompense to Anna for shafting the De Souzas over a client. Matthew tells Nicola she can have the job if she brings in some business before the end of the day. When she hears about Jamie and Louise's Christmas wedding she poaches their booking and Paul is sacked as wedding co-ordinator. Paul is furious with his sister's betrayal and chucks her out. Eli has taken Danielle home and has trouble trying to get her to leave. Danielle tells the Dingles that they were once an item, but Eli refuses to be drawn into explaining their history. Debbie is jealous when she turns up and finds Danielle dressed in one of Eli's shirts and she gets the wrong idea. Danielle feigns a foot injury to get a gullible Eli to let her stay. Ashley is put out when Laurel falls asleep during one of his sermons and he bemoans how empty the church is for most of the year. Ashley worries that he's failed to keep his services interesting and wonders whether to resurrect the church choir to revitalise them. Also, Pollard agrees to back Lexi to get the workers to behave around her.
