When DCI Jack Meadows is found asleep at his desk, Supt. John Heaton tells him he's been working too hard and must take the rest of the day off. As Jack drives home, he's close to falling asleep when he suddenly sees a man wearing military uniform and a balaclava standing in the middle of the road. Swerving to avoid him, Jack crashes into a skip and, realising that Jack's a police officer the man runs off. When DC Mickey Webb hears that the traffic unit don't believe Jack's story and Heaton tells Mickey that Jack's career could be over if they don't find out what really happened, Mickey resolves to help his DCI... Elsewhere, Pcs Emma Keane and Will Fletcher turn up at an industrial estate just as an explosion erupts in one of the buildings. Rashid Akhtar tells CID that the lock-up is owned by his son-in-law, Arihant Kazir. Later, DI Neil Manson and DC Grace Dasari find Arihant beaten unconscious. Back at Sun Hill, DS Stuart Turner learns that Arihant changed his name when he converted to Islam and has a string of convictions under his old name. When Rashid admits he's worried that Arihant has dangerous friends and fundamentalist views, Stuart asks him if Arihant could be a terrorist...
