RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show – BBC1 & BBC2
Jo Whiley and Joe Swift once again bring us coverage from RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, which this year features gardens by Springwatch and royalty…
We’re not having the scorching Summer of last year, but most gardens are thankful, particularly those at Hampton Court.
Joe Swift and Jo Whiley (pictured above) are once again knee-deep in vegetation, bringing us the exotic plants and blooms on display at the world’s biggest annual flower show.
With gardens focusing on everything from sustainability to meditation and medicine, highlights include the Festival of Roses, the Beth Chatto Garden, the Duchess of Cambridge’s Garden and the first Springwatch Garden, encouraging the nation to rewild their open spaces.
‘I’ve been coming to the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show since the beginning and love its relaxed atmosphere,’ Gardeners’ World favourite Joe Swift, 54, tells TV Times.
‘Hampton’s the biggest annual flower show in the world – and by the end of the week, my legs really do know about it!’
DJ and gardening buff Jo Whiley will once again co-host with Joe, and can’t wait to pick up tips and tricks from Britain’s finest growers.
‘I’ve been putting into practice everything I learnt last year at Hampton Court and my garden’s looking much better for it,’ says Jo, who turns 54 on 4 July.
‘The palace setting is simply stunning.’
Continues until Thursday.
