While Rocco is still in a serious condition in hospital, Alf learns that the cops still haven't found any new evidence to help Ric's case, and asks Peter what he doing to prove his grandson's innocence. Peter reveals he's waiting for DNA test results which may show another person present at the crime scene and help clear Ric's name. Meanwhile, Matilda apologises to Ric for doubting him, and they make up. Later, Peter heads to Summer Bay house to let everyone know there were no traces of DNA from anyone apart from Ric found at the scene. He has no choice, but to place Ric under arrest for Rocco's attempted murder. Kelli borrows Amanda's car to see Ethan who makes some adjustments to the engine. Later, when Amanda stalls on the roadside, Ethan conveniently arrives and offers to help. Amanda accompanies him to town to get a spare part and he fixes her car before asking her on a date. Amanda tells Ethan she's engaged, but Ethan gives her his number just in case. Amanda returns home and tells Kelli about Ethan, but asks her not to tell Peter in case he gets jealous.
