Denise celebrates her hen night in the Vic but Shirley is working behind the bar and can't resist causing trouble. Shirley encourages the normally tee-total Denise to get drunk and Pat is angry. Pat criticises Shirley and the pair end up in a fight and are arrested! Stella is miffed when Phil's dismissive about her wedding talk and in a jealous fit she 'helps' Ben with his spellings and makes sure he learns them incorrectly. Ben fails his spelling test miserably and Stella is triumphant but she's dealt a further blow when Phil tells her he wants them to go on a weekend away – with Ben. Stella plots to make sure Ben stays at home and she lies to Phil that Ben got full marks in his test to use as blackmail. Mickey is suspicious of Li and breaks into her locked cupboard, to discover that it's full of cannabis plants. Mickey demands that Li gets rid of them but she turns on the crocodile tears and tells Mickey that she's so skint she can only do it if he gets a job.
