Simon goes missing!
Eve's not happy that George has taken such a big decision without consulting her and as they row about the need to get Simon away from Peter, he overhears. Scared and confused Simons runs off when George isn't looking. Back on the street Leanne is doing her best to help Peter fight the urge to drink. But when the Wilsons realise Simon is missing Eve secretly calls Peter. As he races to Blackpool, a frantic search for the six-year-old begins. Gail's emotionally drained after her visit to the chapel of rest and when Audrey suggests she should get away to see Sarah in Milan after the funeral, she agrees it may be what she needs. But unbeknownst to Gail the police have still got her under suspicion and when a couple come forward claiming they witnessed Joe and Gail's last row, they wonder whether they've just found the final piece of the jigsaw. John lies to Fiz as he heads out for an interview for the teaching job. He explains away the gap in his CV by saying he's been travelling. Also, Carla sets off on her date with Trevor, while Kelly searches her offices for the account books. *Second episode, 8.30pm* Peter and Leanne arrive in Blackpool as the police search gets underway. George is shame-faced but Peter manages to control his anger, now much more concerned with finding his son. But as the search for Simon mounts there are still no reports of sightings. The police issue flyers containing Simon's photograph, while a desperate Peter, George and Ken scour the streets as the night sets in. The police interview witnesses and they describe how they saw Gail arguing with Joe on board the boat. Armed with this, Glynn and Carr return to the street to question Gail. She insists she got off the boat before Joe sailed away but it's clear their suspicions are growing, as are Tina's. Gail tries to defend herself but Tina's had enough of Gail's lies and orders her to stay away from Joe's funeral. As Carla enjoys her date with Trevor, Kelly lets Nick into the factory to go through Underworld's books. Armed with the figures Nick then heads to the Rovers where he surprises Carla with a tempting business offer. She agrees to give it some thought. Also, John confides in Fiz about his job interview. He tells her that not only did he not declare his criminal record, but he was offered the job. Click here to watch whatsontv.co.uk's weekly soaps video preview, the Soap Scoop
