Strictly Come Dancing - BBC1
Grab yourself some popcorn! It’s Movie Week on Strictly Come Dancing and TV Times catches up with Danny John-Jules...
Hooray for Hollywood, and Alleluia for Aljaž (pictured above with Kate Silverton) dressed up as a matinee idol (we can only hope).
Yes, it’s Movie Week and the couples will be looking to the silver screen for inspiration, as they dazzle us with cinematic numbers.
Fingers crossed for a nod to The Greatest Showman!
And, lucky us, it’s not just the competitive dances we’ve got to look forward to: the pros will be putting a spell on us, too, as they perform a tribute to the Harry Potter films.
Movie Week is always a treat, but rest assured the judges will still have their eyes peeled for footwork slip-ups, and one more couple will be sent home tomorrow night…
TV Times caught up with Danny John-Jules, 58, to remind him about the last time we met, during a chat about Death in Paradise and we'd asked him if he'd ever consider doing Strictly?
'Yes! We did that interview sitting round the pool in Guadeloupe and you suggested doing Strictly, but I didn’t think it would ever happen,' he says.
' I thought they might say I’d done too many musicals.
'I’m an experienced West End dancer but not in these genres – ballroom and Latin are new to me. Then I bumped into a producer at the BAFTAs and we started talking. When I got the call asking me to be on the show I told them that you had been saying I should do it!'
