After an unsatisfactory call from Karl in the UK, insecure Susan gets a visit from her old flame Tom Scully who reveals he's never stopped loving her and wants to resume their relationship. Although she's sorely tempted by his offer, Susan eventually reveals she's taken Karl back, and Tom is surprised, insisting she is too good for him. He then delivers another shock when he reveals that he's landed the Principal's job at Erinsborough High – he's her new boss! Dodgy new doctor Charlotte Stone installs herself in Karl's old surgery and quickly enlists Boyd as her new secretary. But in reality, she's a con woman with plans to make a fast buck out of the Erinsborough residents. And when Carmella goes to Dr Stone for help with her insomnia and melancholy, Charlotte recklessly places Carmella on mood-altering medication as a quick fix. When Boyd continues to try to win her back, Janae goes to Susan for advice. Feeling particularly sensitive about infidelity herself, Susan bluntly urges Janae to stick to her wedding vows. But her advice makes Janae realise that taking Boyd back now would be an act of obligation – not self respect. Also, Elle realises she is falling for Oliver for real.
