Ugly Me: My Life with Body Dysmorphia
This is the story of 29-year-old Liane who suffers from a crippling condition which leaves her believing she’s horrifically ugly, BBC3 tells her story
Most of us occasionally lack confidence about our appearance, but 29-year-old Liane suffers from the crippling condition body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), which leaves her believing she’s horrifically ugly.
For her, it’s so bad that she wishes she could scratch her face off and has even set light to her hair out of frustration.
This moving documentary follows Liane as she undergoes therapy to help her conquer her demons and save her relationship with her long-suffering boyfriend, Mitch.
It’s a heartbreaking story of an ordinary woman trapped by an extraordinary feeling of worthlessness that leaves you rooting for her to recover.
