It’s Valerie Pitman’s last day at The Mill, and Heston offers Ruhma his credit card to plan something but she insists she can plan a party on a budget – they’re off to the pound shops. In her car, Heston tries to talk to her about Shak, only for Ruhma to be distracted. When they return from the shops, they start setting up in the staff room and ask Mrs. Tembe to keep Valerie out until they are ready.
Valerie goes to get her coat from the staff room, only for everyone to jump out and yell ‘surprise!’ She is overjoyed – and at the end of the night, shesays her drunken goodbyes, before being bundled into a taxi by Ayesha.
Zara surprises Daniel by saying she’s going to meet up with the mums from Joe’s school after all. As she heads off, Valerie catches her and is disappointed that Zara won’t be around for Valerie’s leaving do.
When Zara arrives at the coffee shop, she meets the mums and observes the closeness between them and eventually makes her excuses and leaves.
