Kevin delays the wedding to have a last-minute chat with Denise and reassure her of his love. Meanwhile, Shirley turns up and marches up to the register office. Pat attempts to intervene but Shirley breaks free and announces her one-night-stand with Kevin to a shocked Denise and the guests. Denise is stunned, but she’s determined not to let Shirley ruin things and agrees to marry Kevin anyway. Phil's attempt to be romantic fails miserably when they stop for a snack and he hides Stella's engagement ring in her hot dog then proposes on one knee.
