With both Toadie and Kathy unconscious and unresponsive in the aftermath of the accident, it's up to Paige to raise help, but only after instinctively saving Kathy's life. Thrown into the controlled chaos of the hospital, Paige comes through relatively unscathed as Toadie and Kathy's loved ones are rallied, not knowing the fate of the victims. After a tense wait, and upon seeing Toadie in incredible pain, Sonya is relived to learn he only has a broken coccyx. Their relief is short lived when Naomi intrudes, knowing the man she loves is hurt.
Kathy's diagnosis is more serious, and when questioned by Lauren, Paige's guilt is piqued. Knowing it's only a matter of time before Kathy wakes and her identity is revealed, Paige discharges herself. After a final heartbreaking exchange with her mother, Paige flees Erinsborough, but not before leaving a parting gift on Lauren's doorstep...
After securing the scene of the accident, Matt finds Kathy's heart pills in Paige's bag. Querying the importance of them with Karl, his suspicions are aroused. When Karl discovers Paige's real name, he obliquely urges Matt to question Paige. But when Paige manages to provide a plausible answer, Matt's left with more questions than answers about this mysterious young woman...
