The people of Fairview are in shock because of the murder of coffee shop waitress Emily Portsmouth, and wonder if Julie’s attacker might be responsible. Nick Bolen is worried because he was the last person in The Coffee Cup before she was strangled so he knows the police will need to ask questions and possibly uncover his past. Meanwhile, his son Danny has troubles, too, and after getting the brush off from Julie, he collapses at his house after taking an overdose. When he wakes in hospital he tells the nurse his name is Tyler! More information about the Bolens is revealed when Angie admits she once killed someone. Susan discovers Bree and Karl doing naughty things at a motel, and is furious at her neighbour for having an affair with her ex husband. There are some big fireworks when the ladies attend their new self defence class. Bree has other matters to deal with, too. To rid herself of husband Orson, she’s trying to get him into big trouble with the law again by bribing Orson’s ex cell mate to visit their home, thus breaking the terms of Orson’s parole. Carlos sacks Lynette and gets a lawsuit thrown at him. The whole saga destroys the friendship between his wife Gaby and Lynette. Finally, Mike threatens Katherine after she bad-mouths Susan to son MJ. After a further incident when Katherine picks up MJ from a party without Mike knowing, the pair have an almighty row where Mike tells her the whole time they were together he always longed after Susan. It really affects Katherine badly and she rings for a doctor, after stabbing herself in the stomach...
