Lady in the Lake is a seven-episode series starring Natalie Portman, who shot to fame in Leon: The Professional and later appeared in the Star Wars prequels. Based on the hit novel of the same name by Laura Lippman, Lady in the Lake has received a fantastic critical reception and also stars The Queen's Gambit's Moses Ingram.

Teasing the plot, the makers say: "When the disappearance of a young girl grips the city of Baltimore on Thanksgiving 1966, the lives of two women converge on a fatal collision course. Maddie Schwartz (Portman), a Jewish housewife seeking to shed a secret past and reinvent herself as an investigative journalist, and Cleo Johnson (Ingram), a mother navigating the political underbelly of Black Baltimore while struggling to provide for her family.

"Their disparate lives seem parallel at first, but when Maddie becomes fixated on Cleo's mystifying death, a chasm opens that puts everyone around them in danger. From visionary director Alma Har'el, Lady in the Lake emerges as a feverish noir thriller and an unexpected tale of the price women pay for their dreams...".

Is Lady in the Lake on Netflix?

The sad answer for Netflix subscribers is no. It is available to stream globally on Apple TV Plus. Apple TV Plus costs $9.99 / £8.99 / AU$12.99 per month to subscribe. Or, for even better value, you can subscribe to an annual plan that effectively gets you 12 months for the price of 10. There are a few great ways to watch shows on Apple without paying initially, and we've got an entire page on Apple TV Plus free trials that we'd recommend you check out. The most obvious way is with its 7-day free trial for new users.

Will Lady in the Lake ever be on Netflix?

This seems highly unlikely. Apple TV Plus shows haven’t been heading to Netflix, so we can see this one going there either. We have a Netflix vs Apple TV Plus feature if you’re weighing up which service to subscribe to.

Will Lady in the Lake get a physical release?

Possibly, although nothing is confirmed. Apple TV Plus hit Ted Lasso is finally heading to DVD but that’s years after it was released. So, getting an Apple TV Plus subscription is by far the easiest and currently only way of watching Lady in the Lake.
