The Bold and the Beautiful recap for July 12, 2024: tragedy strikes Deacon again
Deacon suffers another loss.
Steffy and Hope clear the air, Finn has a conversation with his father and tragedy strikes for Deacon in The Bold and the Beautiful recap for July 12, 2024.
We begin at Forrester Creations, where Hope (Annika Noelle) is trying to work but is clearly upset. Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) walks in and says she said goodbye to Thomas, Paris and Douglas. She asks if Hope said goodbye, and Hope tells her that she gave them her blessing.
Finn (Tanner Novlan) looks up and sees Li (Naomi Matsuda) walking past his office. Jack (Ted King) walks in, too. It’s a family reunion.
Bill (Don Diamont) tells Luna (Lisa Yamada) and Poppy (Romy Park) how much he loves having the Nozawa energy changing his life. He tells Luna he wants to give Luna his name, sooner than later.
Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers) can’t believe what he’s read in Tom’s letters. "This is crazy," he says. Meanwhile, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) is in the apartment reading up on Tom’s story.
Jack tells Li that he still visits Finn even though she pushed him out of her life. She accuses him of looking for nurses. They reveal they were both at Il Giardino the night Tom died. Jack makes a joke about the terrible music until Li tells him that Tom died after the performance.
Bill tells Luna that he wants her to have his name because it’s her birthright and he wants her to have everything she’s entitled to as a Spencer.

Hollis finds Deacon (Sean Kanan) as the lights flicker again. Deacon asks if he wants to get a beer after work. Hollis tells him he’s learned something interesting and he’s eager to tell him about it.
In the apartment, Sheila is deep in her research. "Poor Tom," Sheila says as she reads about him. She sounds sincere.
Steffy is impressed that Hope gave Thomas her blessing. Hope admits she wanted Thomas back but she’s been doing some "soul-searching" and now she knows what she really wants.
Poppy says she enjoys hanging out with the family but she has to run some errands. Bill also has to run to the office to get ready for a big meeting. Luna is happy to stay home so long as they promise there will be more family time in the future.
Hollis is behind the bar when Sheila walks in and asks about the power. He’s distracted and says Deacon is looking into it. She knows something is wrong with him and he tells her that he found something out and doesn’t know what to think about it. It’s very important. He found out about Tom and how he died.
Jack feels bad for calling Tom a terrible singer after learning he died. Li gets a phone call and leaves Jack and Finn together. Jack apologizes for popping in unannounced but he wanted to tell Finn that family is everything and he’s glad Finn is seeing Poppy and Luna. He’s glad Poppy found out that Luna is Bill’s daughter.
Steffy tells Hope that she thinks it’s good for everyone that Hope gave Thomas her blessing. She’s sincere when she says they untangled themselves from a relationship that could never work. Hope still doesn’t think that Thomas and Paris are going to last, but Steffy wants them to take time. Steffy asks what triggered Hope’s change of heart. She asks if it was something, or "someone."
Li doesn’t want to talk about Jack when she gets back to Finn’s office. She asks if Finn has seen Luna and Poppy and Finn says he knows that Bill is Luna’s father. Li says Poppy finally got what she wanted.
Steffy asks what Hope finally realized, but Hope downplays it and says that she had a conversation with her mother. "Some inner turmoil?" Steffy asks. Hope plays it off, saying it’s nothing that concerns Steffy.
Sheila says they’re all sad about Tom’s death, but Hollis says he found something. He goes to find the backpack, leaving Sheila alone at the bar with the flickering lights. He brings the backpack to the bar. She accuses him of "rifling through his backpack to find his drug stash." She says the backpack is filthy and tells him to throw it away. He can’t believe she’s asking him to do that. She walks away, and the lights flicker again.
Hollis takes a sip of water as he cleans up the bar. The lights go out completely and he uses his phone to see. He takes another drink as he goes through the backpack. Someone walks in and he says he needs to talk to someone about "this" and he points to the backpack.
The next day, LA is covered in a golden glow. Hope drinks some coffee and looks at a message from Douglas. Finn walks in and asks if Steffy is in yet. He was going to surprise her after working the graveyard shift. He asks how she’s doing after Thomas and Douglas left. He assures her that she’ll find the man he’s meant to be with.
Steffy is on the phone with Chief Baker. He thinks it’s more than a coincidence that a man died where Sheila works.
Deacon tells Sheila that power will be restored before they open. He kisses her and says that he didn’t get to kiss her the night before because she had to work late the night before. He asks if she’s ok and she says she’s happy about her love for him and their life together. She’s not going to let anyone take it away from her.
When she gets to the restaurant, she looks around for coffee cups and sees something behind the bar. She screams and Deacon comes running. They find Hollis there. Deacon calls 9-1-1 but she says that he’s dead. She studies him carefully as he panics.
