The Jetty is a thriller starring Jenna Coleman as a recently widowed detective, Ember Manning, who uncovers dark secrets in the sleepy town she's always called home. But as Ember gets close to the truth, it threatens to destroy her life – forcing her to re-evaluate everything she thought she knew about her late husband, Mack, and the life they built together.

Here is everything that happened in The Jetty episode 3...

The third and penultimate episode opens with the police taking photos of Riz's body and we can see marks around her neck, meaning she was strangled before being dumped in the lake.

Ember races to her mum's house and asks her how she knew Riz was in the lake, Sylvia thinks she is talking about Amy, but Ember is surprised to learn her mum also knew Riz after she came to her trying to get in touch with Amy.

Ember explains she thinks Riz was investigating Mack in relation to Amy going missing because he was with her the night she vanished. As they are talking, Ember remembers leaving Riz the answerphone messages the night before that links her and Mack to Amy's case... so she races to Ember's house to see if she can find the phone before the forensics team, but it isn't there.

DI Morgan gets the team together for a briefing, dividing people between two investigations, one to work out who killed Riz, and a second to investigate the cold case of Amy Knightly. But Ember points out Riz was investigating a sexual predator in the local area and so she and Hitch are put on their own team.

The police grill Mr Knightly about the night Amy went missing and his alibi has holes in it for the time Riz was killed. He claims he had nothing to do with her death despite having a motive and no alibi.

Back at her desk Ember looks up the PI from the boat house using his car reg and finds his name is Gregory Blake. She calls his home and his wife answers and she doesn't take kindly to Ember ringing. Later Hitch suggests tracking down the PI using his reg but Ember pretends she didn't see it and doesn't tell Hitch that she has already tried calling Gergory.

At the hospital, Ember speaks to Miranda, who is now awake, and Miranda tells her she isn't going to keep her baby. Ember asks if the baby's father abused her and Miranda denies it, she says she doesn't know who the father is because she 'likes having a good time'.

Back at the police station, the team has found a call log from Amy's phone and there is a number she rang a lot the night she vanished. When they ring the number, Ember's phone rings from across the room and everyone turns to stare at her.

At a police press conference for Riz's murder, Ember sees Rosie through the window, the girl who was arguing with Brad Ashby by the car. She leaves the conference and grills Rosie about some marks on her neck, which she confirms were done by Liam, but she won't make a statement because she is scared about what Liam will do next.

Ember goes to see Liam and confronts him, she quickly works out that he is a pimp and while he might not be sleeping with the underage girls himself, they are working for him. She asks to see his phone which is full of half-naked young girls, and she is sickened when she sees one of the images is Hannah, her daughter.

Ember is fuming about Troy sending images of Hannah to his mates and points out to her mum that she can't arrest him or Liam because then she would have to arrest Hannah as well as she is the one who created the images. Instead of talking to Hannah, she goes to the school and confronts Troy, telling him to delete the picture and give her a list of all the people who might have the image.

At home, she comforts Hannah, who is heartbroken about the whole thing and tells her mum that she is sorry.

In a flashback, we see Amy and Caitlin arrive at the boat hut with Mack and he introduces them to Joe, someone he claims he's 'taken in as one of his own'. Caitlin and Joe are uncomfortable when Amy and Mack start kissing and when Joe jokes that Mack has another girl on the go (who we now know is Ember) and Amy doesn't take kindly to the comment and throws her drink over Joe before storming out.

In the present day, Ember has gone to a nursing home where she talks to Joan, Caitlin's mum, but she is confused and unwell. When Ember says that she can't track Caitlin down Joan says she is dead, but her husband corrects her and says they just haven't seen her for years. But when he leaves, Ember talks to Joan alone and she tells her that Malachy killed Caitlin. Is she telling the truth or just confused?

Back at the station, Ember is stunned to see Mack has been added to the suspects' board and tries to tell DI Morgan that he is barking up the wrong tree... but it is clear that she is worried. The phone rings and it is Hannah, she sounds terrified and says there is a man at the house wanting to see her. Ember pretends to be okay as everyone in the office listens, but she is scared when the PI tells her to meet her at the train station that night.

They meet up in the dark car park and she tells Gregory to never go to her house again, and he tells her not to call his wife. They talk about Riz, and Gregory says the last he heard from her she was tracking the GPS on her stolen laptop. He then plays Ember a recording from Riz's iCloud and it is her confronting whoever stole her laptop and there is a strange wiring noise in the background as someone strangles her to death.

Gregory tells her that Riz thought that Mack was connected to Amy's disappearance because not only did he have a previous criminal record but the boathouse that he used to own was burnt down two days after she arrived in town.

But the worst is to come because Gregory tells her that he found a human bone the night that he was taking photos at the boathouse. Ember feels sick becasue it is in the locker at work and she didn't hand it in as evidence, which doesn't look good on her, especially when DI Morgan already thinks she is hampering the investigation.

In another flashback we see Caitlin heading back into the boat hut after Amy and Mack have a huge row. She sees blood drips all over the floor and a knife also covered in blood. She is terrified that Mack has hurt Amy.

After talking to her mum about how she is going to end up in jail if she doesn't tell the police what she knows about the bones in the boat shed, Ember goes to the pub where all the Ashbys are drinking, along with Hitch. She confronts them all, asking them to take a swab if they are so sure they haven't got an underage girl pregnant. But no one steps up and Arj tries to get her to leave, but when Hitch also doesn't back her up she leaves the pub.

But, on her way out the police have arrived to arrest her, and Ember is forced to get into a police car with all the people she just shouted at in the pub watching her.
