Gemma Bissix: Fans know I'm not evil
Gemma Bissix has revealed she has never had a nasty comment on Twitter, despite playing such an evil character in Hollyoaks.
The soap star is reprising her role as catty Clare Devine in the E4 show, and explained she thinks fans can disassociate her from her alter-ego because she is so evil.
Gemma said: "I only joined Twitter a few months ago because my boyfriend persuaded me to and I've never been on a social network so I'm completely new to it, but I've now got 2000 followers in the last few weeks and they've been lovely and I've not had one negative comment.
"I think because she's such a b****, people really separate me from the character and she affects them so much so I think it surprises them that I'm not like her. I don't know if the fans are scared or what."
And the former EastEnders star revealed fans are really excited to see Clare back in the show.
"The feedback has been really great and everyone's been saying, 'We're going to start watching the show again, it's going to be like the old times', stuff like that. So I think it's exciting for people.
"The drama that Clare brings, that's what soaps are about; murders, shootings, killings, affairs and this and that and it's quite nice to get a dark edge back to it. I think fans really enjoy that. It's real edge of your seat stuff."
