Ed Sheeran is heading to Summer Bay!
Move over Irene Roberts – there’s a new redhead in Summer Bay. Ed Sheeran is making a cameo appearance in Home And Away.
The Make It Rain singer soaked up the Australian sunshine on the Palm Beach set of the Channel 5 soap as he filmed a scene with Emily Symons, who plays much-loved character Marilyn Chambers.
Ed – who is currently on tour Down Under – will appear as himself in the soap, in an episode to air later this year, but details of the storyline that brings him to Summer Bay are being kept under wraps.

“I got asked to do it and it sounded like it could be fun. I did Shortland Street in New Zealand as well and I’m sure if Emmerdale or EastEnders ever ask me in England I would do that as well.
“I have got to a point where I really, really don’t care what people think so I’m doing stuff because I enjoy it now rather than because it might be cool. I am just in it for fun.”
Ed does have a previous connection to the show, as he hired actress Isabel Lucas – who played Tasha Andrews in Home And Away for three years until 2006 – to play cupid in the music video for his single Give Me Love.
