To celebrate its 300th Bushtucker Trial, I'm a Celebrity prepared a particularly nasty competition set in a jungle pub
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! celebrated its 300th bushtucker trial on Thursday with a knees-up guaranteed to cause a hangover.
The ITV reality series is known for its stomach-churning challenges that famous contestants take on in order to win meals for their fellow campers, so to mark the milestone a particularly horrifying task was on the menu.
Homes Under The Hammer host Martin Roberts and Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas had been voted by viewers to do the trial, and as members of the programme’s royal camp sub-group, they were up against two subjects from the main camp who were hoping to win their privileged places from them in a task titled The Bush Brewery.
Martin went head to head with dancer Ola Jordan and Adam took on comedian Joel Dommett in downing pints of pureed jungle critters.
Presenter Declan Donnelly announced: “A little fact for you fact fans, this is the 300th bushtucker trial. To celebrate this momentous occasion, we’ve organised a knees-up in a brewery.”
The celebrity campers chose a series of disgusting draughts for their opponents, with the aim of winning the drinking contest by finishing each glass and managing to keep it down.
Ola downed Special Spew (blended beech worms) and Bodding Tongues, Martin drank Fly Neken (flies and fly pupae) and Sam Mig Hell (blended cockroaches), Joel knocked back Newcastle Brown Snail and Blood Weiser (blended cow’s heart), and Adam supped on Ham Stel (blended pig’s penis) and Strong Toe (blended camel’s hoof).
As all four contestants accepted their challenges, it came down to a tie break which Adam won after beating Joel to be the first to finish a pint of Claws Light (blended crocodile anus) and Ola was victorious in drinking Baa Ling (blended sheep’s testicles) as her opponent Martin vomited.
Adam managed to retain his throne in the royal camp and Ola ousted Martin, heading off to relative luxury while he was demoted to the main camp.
Martin said: “I’ve just drunk half a pint of crushed flies and cockroaches, for what? Going back to camp and getting more beans, I feel pants.”
Ola said: “I’m enjoying being the queen, I’m going to be a good queen with a warm heart, not a nasty queen. I will treat my subjects with respect very well because I like them a lot – unless it is Martin and I might make him suffer.”
However, Martin soon found himself back in the royal enclosure when, along with Carol Vorderman, he drew a short straw to be a servant and wait on his former camp-mates.
