Alan Dale slams Neighbours bosses
Alan Dale, best known as Neighbours' Jim Robinson, has hit out at the bosses of the hit Australian soap. The 60-year-old actor, who played Jim for eight years before quitting in 1993, claims that Neighbours bosses were expolitative and corrupt, according to The Stage newspaper. Alan, who went on to star in the hit US series The OC, Ugly Betty, 24, The West Wing and Lost, said: "The show I loved. It was sweet and the people I worked with were sweet, most of them. "But the producers were greedy and nasty. There are many examples of the things these people did and, as far as I know, are still doing. "When you live in a country where there is not much else to do as an actor, there isn't much choice but to put up with it. "But I used to fight them all the time, which is one of the reasons we parted company." The New Zealand-born actor - who recently appeared in an episode of Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood - also admitted that he soon tired of his work in the US. "Ugly Betty got a bit tiresome - there was not much to do. I was working two days a fortnight. If I was retiring, that might have been a good thing but for me, I did not like that. "They did me a favour writing me out."
