Arg: ‘I can’t imagine TOWIE without me!’ (VIDEO)

It seems that James 'Arg' Argent has grown in confidence while filming the latest series of The Only Way Is Essex.

ITVBe's structured reality show returns for its 16th series on Sunday night, with a special episode filmed in Marbella, which the show’s Jessica Wright describes as ‘very funny... with a bit of drama’.

Never one to shy away from saying what she thinks on TOWIE, Jess's co-star Ferne McCann recalled an argument she has with the show's Chloe Lewis, then hinted to whatsontv.co.uk: "Someone who isn't as straight-talking or confrontational also has a row and causes fireworks and it's definitely going to be one to watch."

As Arg sat beside her looking sheepish, it soon became clear which ‘someone’ she was referring to…

Arg confessed: “Sometimes you can keep schtum and not get involved and keep out of things BUT when someone’s trying to upset your girlfriend or come between mine and Lydia’s relationship, there’s only so much you can take. Right or wrong, I stick up for my woman!”

Arg added that he hopes to continue making his mark on TOWIE.

“I love being on The Only Way Is Essex. Some people say I’m the Ian Beale of TOWIE because I’ve been there since day one, so I’d like to think I could stay as long as possible,’ said Arg, who then joked. “I couldn’t imagine a series without me!”

The Only Way Is Essex returns to ITVBe on Sunday October 4 at 10pm.
