BBC announce two Great Christmas Bake Off specials
Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry bring us a festive treat this winter - The Great Christmas Bake Off. Eight past contestants will return to compete in the GBBO spin-off
The BBC has announced two Great British Bake Off Christmas specials, featuring some of the more colourful contestants from Bake Off series past.
This won't necessarily mean past winners of the hit BBC1 baking challenge show. The BBC has yet to let slip who exactly the eight contestants will be.
What is known is that Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry will return as judges and Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins are back to host proceedings, according to the Mirror.
BBC1 boss Charlotte Moore said: “Mary, Paul, Mel and Sue are the perfect recipe for the festive season.”
The two Christmas specials will replace Paul and Mary’s Bake Off Masterclasses, which have previously run during winter. The Yuletide spin-off will see the bakers tackle Christmas cakes, Yule logs and many more festive favourites.
The BBC’s Bake Off contract with Love Productions is soon up, so it could be the last time to see the show where it all first began, and what better way to say goodbye than with a festive feast.
