Bernice Blackstock is leaving Emmerdale as Samantha Giles confirms exit
We're sad to see her go
Bernice Blackstock has been a well-known character on Emmerdale for years, but she's set to make an exit.
Samantha Giles - who plays Bernice - confirmed she was quitting the soap after seven years in an emotional Twitter post.
She wrote: "After 7 fabulous years I am shortly to be hanging up Bernice’s aprons and leaving the dales to pursue other creative projects.
"I will miss all the friends I’ve made on the show, but I’m very excited to be moving on to pastures new."
Samantha, 48, first appeared on our screens back in 1998. It was then revealed that she was making a return to the soap in 2012 and she's been around ever since.

The actress once revealed she returned to work after just six weeks and breast-fed her daughter Olivia in the canteen on set.
"I’ve spent an awful lot of time in that canteen," she explained. "I came back to work when my younger daughter Olivia was six weeks old, and I’d leave her with a chaperone while I filmed scenes. It was really tough – physically exhausting. I’d have to get up at 4.30am to be on set on time, and I’d wash and feed Olivia here before going into make-up."
Samantha will be the third cast-member to leave this year after Gaynor Faye (Megan Macey) and Ryan Hawley (Robert Sugden) announced their departures.
With two daughters, Gabby and Dee Dee in the Dales, only time will tell how Bernice will make her exit...
