C4 is the home of Paralympics coverage, with broadcasts through the night every night, followed by a Winter Paralympics Breakfast round-up at 8.00am. Today the Breakfast show brings highlights of the first day of action, including the downhill skiing and the men’s 7.5km biathlon, featuring former paratrooper Scott Meenagh, plus GB’s wheelchair curling team, who will be taking on world champions Norway. At 6.00pm, there’s more highlights and analysis, before live coverage resumes at 12.30am, with Kelly Gallagher looking to repeat her Super-G success of four years ago, GB taking on Switzerland in the wheelchair curling and Scott Meenagh going again, this time in the 15km cross-country. Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, 9.50pm, ITV
Following last week’s revealing chat with Pamela Anderson, Piers talks to another star who enjoyed the limelight in the 1990s – Jim Davidson. The comedian had millions of viewers tuning in to watch him host The Generation Game and Big Break every Saturday evening. But the good times didn’t last and the comic steadily fell out of favour with audiences and battled alcoholism, before his reputation was left in tatters by allegations of sexual assault. Jim was never charged, yet the pain is still raw and the 64-year-old discusses those dark moments candidly, before reflecting upon the highs and lows of his television career and a chequered personal life. Rating: ***
Below the Surface, from 9.00pm, BBC4
What begins as a normal day in Copenhagen soon escalates into a nightmare scenario in this ace new thriller from the makers of The Killing and Borgen. A subway train has been hijacked and 15 passengers taken hostage – and the man negotiating their release is a cop (Johannes Lassen, Follow the Money) reliving a horrifying trauma of his own… Modus’s Paprika Steen also stars, as a news anchor determined to get the scoop.
