10 Years Ago in the Soaps: Week Beginning 18 February
Remind yourself of all the soap drama that was happening in Corrie, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks 10 years ago this week...
Corrie
Terrible Tracy Barlow used her womanly wiles to ensure witness David Platt didn’t testify against her in court. The deal she struck with him was even more shocking. She promised to sleep with him if he kept his word and she walked free from court. Then she sealed the deal with a lingering kiss…
Elsewhere, a guilty Becky Granger planned to leave Weatherfield after unwittingly starting the fire at Roy Cropper’s café. Hayley Cropper, though, had other ideas and she told Becky she forgave her, then persuaded her to stay put.
EastEnders
Tanya Branning feared husband Max was cheating on her and she confronted him with her suspicions when she found a receipt for expensive jewellery in his pocket. Max, though, had been tipped off about Tanya’s find by his secret lover, Stacey Branning, and he lied his way out of the situation. As usual...
Later, in The Vic, Max and Stacey snuck away for a bit of 'intimate time' in the ladies toilets. Classy, eh? But they were nearly found out when Tanya then came into the loos, followed by Stacey’s brother, Sean, who made an all-out flirt assault on the married beautician.

It was a grim day for the King brothers as Jimmy, Carl and Matthew prepared to bury their father, Tom. All three carried the murdered man's coffin into the church and, later, they all sat down for the reading of the millionaire's will.
Little did they know, though, that his former lover, Carrie Nichols (played by Linda Lusardi), had also arrived in the village and she had a surprise in store for them when the will was read. She and Tom had a secret daughter...
Elsewhere, hard-boozing Shadrach Dingle's career as a taxi driver was short-lived after he crashed the cab on his first call out.
It was the funeral of murdered Becca Dean, and her family and friends gathered to pay their respects. Her sister, Nancy, though, let rip with her anger and grief over how everyone had turned their backs on innocent Becca when she was jailed!
Later on, a grief-stricken Jake Dean assaulted Becca's former schoolboy lover, Justin Burton. Luckily for Justin, copper Calvin Valentine arrived to stop him from killing the teenager.
