BBC's Children in Need wouldn't be the same without an annual contribution from EastEnders. Here are six of their best…

In its present telethon format, BBC's Children in Need charity appeal has existed since 1980, raising many millions of pounds for different children's charities.

For more than 10 years now, the EastEnders cast have played an integral part in the BBC's appeal programming, usually with a themed musical contribution.

Here we give you five of the best performances, with musical themes from the Beatles to Queen and Grease.

And look out at the end for a comedy contribution starring actress/comedian Catherine Tate as schoolgirl Lauren Cooper, who rocks up in The Queen Vic to annoy late landlady Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor) with her catchphrase, 'Am I bovvered?'

The cast celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Beatles' classic album Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band… Look out for former 'Enders hunk Rob Kazinsky wearing the blue uniform made famous by Beatles heart-throb Paul McCartney.

From Moulin Rouge to Saturday Night Fever and Billy Elliot, the 'Enders players perform a great medley from West End productions, but Patsy Palmer steals the show as Eliza Doolittle singing Wouldn't It Be Loverly from My Fair Lady.

With the cast devoting their whole Children in Need performance to the hits of rock legends Queen, look out for Adam Woodyatt, Ricky Norwood, Nitin Ganatra and Rudolph Walker doing a hilarious spoof of I Want To Break Free. Priceless!

The thrills are multiplying in 2014…

The undoubted highlight of 2014's contribution was Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright performing You're The One That I Want as 'young' lovers Danny and Sandy. Kellie matches Olivia Newton-John's sexy moves every step of the way!

Last year, the cast stepped back in time to the golden age of American movie musicals, performing several numbers from Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers' 1935 classic Top Hat. Bonnie Langford gets to show off her impressive background in musical theatre.

And just for fun…

Back in 2005, tough-as-old-boots Queen Vic landlady Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor) met her match when mouthy schoolgirl Lauren Cooper (Catherine Tate) rocked up in Albert Square. Were the viewers bovvered? No, it was great fun!
