Bruce Forsyth scotches retirement rumours
Sir Bruce Forsyth has said that he will 'never retire' - despite continued speculation that he might hang up his TV presenting hat for good. The 84-year-old is subject to regular speculation that he will quit his role on Strictly Come Dancing - but he told The Sun he had no plans to do so, as he loves his work too much. "I'm certainly not going to retire — that's the last thing on my mind!" Bruce revealed, adding that he was spurred on by "the buzz of working". Although I am 84, walking on to a studio floor or the theatre stage, you get the adrenaline rush which is marvellous. Unless you've experienced the warmth of an audience, the achievement of getting your first laugh and entertaining them, singing, dancing and involving the audience, it keeps it all going." However Bruce added that he would be taking advice from his wife Wilnelia - who is 30 years his junior - about his future on Strictly, as they prepare to jet off to Puerto Rico for their Christmas break. "When I come back I see how I feel and we go from there," he said. "Let's face it — nobody will put an 84-year-old under contract for five years!" "I don't feel a pressure that I am seen as 'being Strictly' for most viewers — it's a great show and who knows how long I go on for?!" Saturday night's Strictly final saw Louis Smith triumph over Denise Van Outen, Kimberley Walsh and Dani Harmer to take the Glitterball trophy.
