Channel 4 will screen a documentary featuring pictures of the car crash which killed Diana, Princess Of Wales, despite protests from Conservative MPs. Diana: The Witnesses In The Tunnel has come under fire from shadow culture secretary Hugo Swire after reports that it features images taken by French photographers immediately after the collision, in Paris in 1997. According to The Observer newspaper, the film includes a graphic picture of Diana receiving oxygen from a French doctor, as well as images of the inside of her car. Swire has urged Channel 4 to reconsider screening the programme, which scheduled for June 6. But the broadcaster has defended its decision to show the documentary, saying reports about its content were "misleading and inaccurate", and that the footage had been "carefully and sensitively selected". A spokesman for Channel 4 said: "These photographs are an important and accurate eye-witness record of how events unfolded after the crash. "We acknowledge there is great public sensitivity surrounding pictures of the victims and these have not been included." The programme also features new interviews with photographers and other witnesses to the accident.
