The upshot is that Jacob ends up accompanying his mum Omo and Jet (played to great affect by guest stars Ellen Thomas and Seroca Davis) to Holby ED. While drug dealer Jet is being treated for a minor injury, Jacob makes a heart-stopping discovery about Omo’s health...
Jet has been selling Omo’s essential prescription medicine and substituting it with an ineffective over-the-counter replacement. And that’s only the beginning!
Here we talk to Casualty star Charles Venn, who reveals more about the twists and turns of Jacob’s emotional journey…
What can you reveal about tomorrow’s Casualty?
Charles Venn: "We’ve seen Jacob feeling helpless to protect his vulnerable mother from Jet, who has been using Omo’s house to sell drugs from and taking advantage of her. But Jacob is a dogged individual and this week he decides to go back to the house and tells Jet he’s coming in, whether she likes it or not."

We can’t imagine Jet reacts well to that?
CV: "No, she resists and tries to stop Jacob coming in, so he pushes the door. But in doing so, Jet falls to the floor and hurts her wrist. And, of course, being manipulative, Jet takes advantage of what’s happened and makes a scene, like she’s the victim and Jacob deliberately hurt her."
Is this when the story moves to the ED?
CV: "Yes, when Jet goes to the hospital, accompanied by Omo, Jacob starts doing some digging and finds out there are some inconsistencies in her stories. All of these things start weighing in Jacob’s favour and eventually he finds the necessary evidence - strong, indisputable evidence - that he can present to his mother."
What do you think viewers will hope happens next?
CV: "That when Jacob’s mother sees this evidence, she realises that everything he said about Jet is true. And when Jet is presented with the evidence that she realises there’s nothing she can do and pushes off!"
Series producer Lucy Raffety has said this storyline is about Jacob and Omo making peace. Are we getting closer to that outcome?
CV: "It’s off the back of this that Jacob and Omo really try to forge a mother and son relationship. But it isn’t straightforward unfortunately; there are a lot of hurdles along the way."
Can Jacob rein in his tumultuous feelings and convince Omo to kick Jet out? Find out in Casualty tomorrow at 8.25pm on BBC1.
