Cheryl: 'Joe's success brings back memories' VIDEO
Cheryl Cole admitted that having Joe McElderry in the final of The X Factor brings back memories of her time on a TV talent show. Newcastle-born Cheryl, who secured her place in Girl's Aloud as one of the winners of Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, is mentoring finalist - and fellow Geordie - Joe McElderry, who's favourite to win the ITV1 talent show this weekend. Speaking at a press conference in London, Cheryl said: "Even watching how Joe's family reacts when he's up there brings back memories. "The North East have been right behind him and I couldn't be more proud that he's from our city." CLICK below to watch an interview with Cheryl Cole
