The former Girls Aloud star is seen in a sneak peek trailer for the upcoming season of the genealogy show, which sees celebrities tracing their family trees and uncovering secrets from their past.
The clip shows Cheryl, who divorced from second husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini last month, walking past a river and looking at old photographs.
At one point she says: “I feel really really proud of him.”
Former X Factor judge Cheryl, 33, is set to discover the story of her great-grandfather – a soldier in the First World War.
According to the Mail Online, Cheryl learns her ancestor Joseph Ridley, who fought in the Battle of the Somme, fathered twins.

The Daily Mirror previously reported Joseph had seven children with his wife, before having twins with his housekeeper.
It was also established that the pop star is related to journalist Yvonne Ridley, 58, whose grandfather was Joseph.
Ridley was born in County Durham - less than 25 miles from Cheryl's family home in Newcastle.
Ridley became a household name in 2001 when she was captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan. She later converted to Islam after her release.
EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, actor Sir Ian McKellen, Star Wars and Harry Potter actor Warwick Davis and presenter Liz Bonnin are also set to appear in the new series of the BBC show.
Previous celebrities to trace their roots on the show include Harry Potter author J.K.Rowling, Newsnight presenter Jeremy Paxman, Carol Vorderman and Patsy Kensit.
Tom McDonald, BBC head of natural history and specialist factual commissioning, said: “This year’s series spans centuries of history and crosses continents to unearth extraordinary genealogical revelations for some of the UK’s most beloved actors, performers and presenters.”
Who Do You Think You Are starts soon on BBC1.
