Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien opens up about ‘sick’ Sarah Platt blackmail storyline
Could a drunken mistake ruin Sarah's relationship with Gary…
Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien has opened up about the shocking blackmail plot that’s soon to test her character’s relationship with on-screen fiancé Gary Windass.
The actress, who plays Sarah Platt in the ITV soap, admitted her character is in for a shock after she’s blackmailed by Seb Franklin, who spots her making a swift exit from Adam Barlow’s home the morning after one too many.
‘I love my settled home life and if Sarah and Gary are willing to commit to each other for the rest of their lives, then it's definitely something they should consider,’ she told Daily Express Saturday magazine. ‘But I would not suggest it as a Band-Aid for the relationship.’
She added: ‘There are a lot of things they need to sort out first before jumping into marriage. Sarah is in quite a strop with Gary at the moment; there have been a lot of things he's not been honest about.’
And when Seb spills the beans to Gary about Sarah’s late night antics, she’s devastated.
‘Sarah feels sick to her stomach when Seb tells Gary,’ Tina said. ‘She had a spark with Adam, but she's come to the realisation that, although she and Gary have their problems, they have a great relationship and ultimately she loves him and doesn't want to ruin that.’
