James Cameron, well known for being a really tough director, allegedly kept a nail-gun on the set of Avatar that he would use to nail mobile phones that had the misfortune of ringing, to a wall above the exit sign.
It's a story that may well have been embellished somewhat. Cameron has acknowledged making threats about nailing phones, but claims to have never followed through.
But hey, what if he did take these extreme measures. Avatar was an expensive movie to make - (in fact, the most expensive film ever made at its time of production) so who can blame him if he did indeed adopt this approach to such disruption on set.
