The 2009 series of Dancing On Ice kicked off with the male celebrities making their skating debut
First on to the ice was actor Jeremy Edwards
His routine met with a mixed response - but the judges thought he showed promise
Next up it was the turn of investigative reporter Donal McIntyre
He tried his best but the judges weren't too keen
Still, he did better than Todd Carty, who scored just 7.5 out of 30 - but the audience loved him
Although not skating until next week, the female celebrities also made an appearance
Rugby league star Ellery Hanley was better received
He clocked up the biggest score of the night so far - until...
...Ray Quinn came along - and score a whopping 23.5 points for his debut routine
His fast-paced performance was a hit with judges and audience alike
Next up it was former England footballer Graeme Le Saux
Would he be able to escape the dreaded skate-off?
Finally, it was the return of Michael Underwood, who had to quit last year's series after breaking his ankle
Todd was amazed to learn that he had escaped the bottom two
But Donal found himself in the bottom two
And Graeme also had to skate for survival
There were congratulations from Donal after the judges voted unanimously to save him
In the end, however, it was time to say goodbye to Graeme and his short-lived skating career
