Sam Mitchell (Danniella Westbrook) will return to EastEnders next week ahead of Peggy’s funeral and immediately put the cat among the pigeons.
Danniella is reprising her role for a four-episode stint as the Mitchell family prepare for a big send-off for the former Queen Vic landlady, who took her own life in scenes last month after discovering her cancer was terminal.
But Sam is ruffling feathers as soon as she arrives when she drops the bombshell that Grant (Ross Kemp) will not be returning for the funeral.
Will the news come as a disappointment or relief to Sharon (Letitia Dean), who nearly shared a kiss with her ex-husband turned brother-in-law last time he was in town?
Sam’s arrival will also be a shock for Jack Branning as she brings back their son, Richard, who she left Walford with in 2010 after it was revealed he was the result of an affair between the two.
It seems Grant still has some unfinished business so will he really miss Peggy’s funeral? And will Sam be able to make nice with any of Albert Square’s residents until then?
