Why is Florence back in Death in Paradise?
Well the character originally left halfway through season eight when her fiance Patrice was murdered. Two years on Florence has decided it’s time to get back to work, but she hadn't counted on how annoying Neville can be! However, it seems the pair might like each other more than you might think...
Why is Camille back?
Sarah is back as Camille after a six year break from the show for a special two-part story to celebrate the show's 10th anniversary. She is seen in the final moments of episode five and then in episode six she has a bigger role to play.
Sara says: “There are some characters that never leave you and I’m still Camille, wherever I go. After many years, people still reference and send their love to me as Camille, so it was obvious that I had to go back and the 10th anniversary is the perfect opportunity! I want to celebrate the longevity of Death in Paradise.
“It was life changing for me and I’m so grateful to the show. I feel like I’m going back home with new folks and old, to bring more fun and joy. I’m really happy to wear Camille’s ‘twinkly-ness’ again.”
How is Ben Miller going to return when DI Richard Poole is dead?
Good question! Richard Poole was famously bumped off with an ice pick at the start of the third series. Yet it's been announced that Ben Miller is returning for a guest appearance in the new series. A teaser clip shows Ben dressed up in Richard's normal suite attire as he wanders up the beach once more. So, perhaps Richard's death was faked? Or perhaps when Camille sees him she's simply having flashbacks to their time together?
We know the answer now of course but won't spoil the surprise!
Who’s in the cast of Death in Paradise season 10?
Ralf Little stars as DI Neville Parker, with Josephine Jobert making a comeback after a spell away from the show as Florence and Sarah Martins returns as Camille. Plus Ben Miller returns as DI Richard Poole.
Also back are Don Warrington as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, Tobi Bakare as JP and Elizabeth Bourgine as Mayor Catherine Bordey.
Two big characters who won’t be appearing are Ruby Patterson (played by Shyko Amos) and Madeleine Dumas (Aude Legastelois-Bidé). They have both left the show.
What’s the plot?
Well it looks like Neville might get a romantic interest during the series. Florence is set to help Neville embrace his new life, but is Neville really ready to do that? Meanwhile, JP runs into 18-year-old petty criminal Marlon with unexpected consequences.
JP is set for a tough time in the new series. The Beeb teases that there “are some shocking developments at work” which test JP to his limits.
And Catherine will be in grave danger during the new series... cue the return of Camille to help her mother out. It also appears that Richard Poole features in the Camille storyline.

Ex Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and comedian Jason Manford will both be guesting. Plus Benidorm’s Steve Edge and Our Girl’s Luke Pasqualino.
