Denise Welsh weds Lincoln Townley

Actress and TV presenter Denise Welch has tied the knot with Lincoln Townley at a celeb-filled wedding in Portugal.

The former Coronation Street star - who is now one of the hosts of Loose Women - wed her fiance in front of 100 guests at a villa on the Algarve on Saturday.

Among those joining Denise in Portugal were her former Corrie co-star Shobna Gulati and ex-EastEnder Jill Halfpenny, as well as Loose Women co-hosts Carol McGiffin, Andrea McLean and Kate Thornton.

"There was a pre-wedding party on Friday night and it was great to see loads of Loose Women past and present," Carol McGiffin told the Sunday Mirror.

However not all of Denise's celebrity friends made it, with notable absentees including Bev Callard and Carol Vorderman.

Her eldest son Matthew was also unable to make the bash, due to his band The 1975 supporting the Rolling Stones at their Hyde Park gig.

Denise's ex-husband, actor Tim Healy, had been invited to the wedding but was unable to attend due to supporting his son at the concert.

The marriage is the third for the actress, who was also previously wed to former Brookside star David Easter before they split in 1988.
