Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are presenting new ITV show Gift Wrapped, which sees engaged couples answer questions about each other to win the wedding gift list and holiday of their dreams.
Ruth admitted with some of the couples she couldn’t understand why they were together at first, but added: “Then after a few rounds you think, ‘Oh actually, I can really see it, he’s really funny’.”
“Most of the contestants came up to me and said, ‘What are you doing with her?’,” Eamonn joked.
“Funny, they said that to me about you. How strange!” Ruth shot back.
The pair also revealed that they feel very proud that viewers think they know the couple well enough to come up and have a chat.
The This Morning presenting duo have become so familiar to their fans that they say they are often approached by strangers who want to catch up with them.
“I think people feel very comfortable coming up and talking to us,” says Ruth. “People start chatting and then suddenly go, ‘Oh, I’m sorry, you don't even know me’. I’m very flattered by that. I think it’s nice that people feel comfortable enough to come and chat.”
Gift Wrapped starts on ITV on Monday, August 18, 5.00pm.
