Eddie The Eagle, Charlotte Jackson win Splash!
Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards and Sky Sports reporter Charlotte Jackson have become the latest two celebrities to make it to the semi-final of celebrity diving show Splash! Former Olympian Edwards won the second heat of the ITV1 show after performing one of the most complicated dives seen on the show so far, while Sky Sports reporter Charlotte fought off competition from TOWIE's Joey Essex to make it through on the judges' vote. Model Caprice and TV presenter Diarmuid Jackson also took part in Saturday's show but did not make it through. The pair will join Omid Djalili and Benidorm's Jake Canuso - who won last weekend's heat - in the semi-final in two weeks time. Eddie The Eagle won praise from the judges - and a score of 27 out of 30 - for his forward and a half somersault pike from the 10m diving board, which led Leon Taylor to tell him: "That was the dive of the series so far." Charlotte, meanwhile, overcame a broken toe sustained during training to win her place in the next round, becoming the first female contestant to do so - and said she was "shocked" to have made it through. However there was disappointment for Joey Essex, who made it to the dive-off despite scoring just 19.5 from the judges. The reality TV star earlier dropped a clanger after judge Taylor - a former Olympic silver medallist - criticised his performance, only for Joey to retort: "Can you do that?" Next weekend's show will see Anthony Ogogo, Linda Barner, Donna Air, Dom Joly and Tina Malone take to the diving board.
