Emmerdale star Gaynor Faye hints at Megan Macey return just three months after soap exit
The actress’ final scenes aired in August
Emmerdale star Gaynor Faye has hinted at a possible return for her former character Megan Macey.
The actress announced she was leaving the soap in May after six years playing Megan, and her final scenes aired in August.
But while her character moved away for a fresh start following Frank Clayton's funeral after he died in the factory blaze, Gaynor has landed a role in the stage adaptation of Kay Mellor's ITV series, Band of Gold.
Addressing her exit from the Dales on Saturday, Gaynor told Graham Norton’s Radio 2 show: “Leaving Emmerdale, yeah, it's heart-wrenching. [I left] to do the stage show. I just wanted to do something different. That's what an actor does, I do different roles."
But that doesn’t mean the door is closed for Megan’s return, as Gaynor hinted: “I left in a taxi, so who knows? I didn't leave, I still see loads of people and Emmerdale's around the corner, but I'm absolutely loving doing this show.”
The actress joined Emmerdale in 212, and when she announced her departure in May, she admitted it was purely so she could try her hand at something new.

“I’ve always been the type of person who doesn’t want to stay playing the same character for too long,” she told OK! at the time.
“I’ve been on the show for over six years and have naturally reached a point where I’d like to do some other stuff.
“It's a risk. I need to push myself out of my comfort zone.”
Gaynor will appear in Band of Gold alongside EastEnders' Laurie Brett, Hollyoaks' Kieron Richardson and Coronation Street stars Shayne Ward, Sacha Parkinson and Andrew Dunn.
The production will run from Thursday, November 28 to Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Leeds Grand Theatre, before embarking on a 10-week UK tour in 2020.
